DAVID 'LUSKY' LUSCOMBE
AS FAR AS Socio-political Urban Art goes it doesn’t get better than the work of David ‘Lusky’ Luscombe. While it could be argued that thousands of street art trialists have and still attempt to emulate the tongue-in-cheek subtle but pointed humour of a 90s BANKSY, Lusky has his own path and agenda.
According to what has been written about him is that he – Lusky – is and was a designer eager to shake-off the shackles of fulfilling the commercial creative needs of the mainstream and exchanged it all for the deep and meaningful nuances of urban art in its truest sense.
Lusky uses art to honestly share thoughts, truisms and theories in a beguiling manner which whilst not as confrontational as the street art of yesteryear but is equally as powerful a slap once the penny has dropped for the unsuspecting viewer.
A prolific artist, his desire to share sees all, if not most of his pieces – all one-off originals – reasonably and affordably priced. As distant admirers of this Newcastle-based artist, Guerilla Galleries London are happy to be working with David Luscombe.
